  • Attapulgite (brand name Toxisorb™ Bolus) is an anti-diarrhea clay supplement used in pets like dogs, cats, horses, and cattle. It works by binding bacteria and toxins to help restore a healthy intestinal system.

  • Avian flu (also known as highly pathogenic avian Influenza or HPAI, avian influenza, or bird flu) is a viral infection caused by influenza type A viruses. It primarily affects wild birds and domestic poultry. The H5N1 strain is of particular concern because it can spread rapidly and potentially infect non-avian species, including mammals like dogs, cats, zoo animals and some wild carnivores. During outbreaks, keep pets and livestock away from wild birds and their droppings.

There are various formulations of this medication (HCl, sodium, CFA). Ceftiofur crystalline free acid comes in an injectable form. Do not inject into a vein or artery – sudden death may occur.

  • Backyard chickens diets are designed to provide the proper nutrition for the chicken’s life stage. Protein and calcium requirements are different for baby chicks, growing chicks, adult laying hens, and roosters. Supplements and treats may be given in small quantities.

  • Chromium picolinate is a dietary supplement used to support the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats in cats, horses, and pigs. Chromium picolinate may increase insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism and can be used as an adjunctive (supportive) therapy for diabetes and obesity in cats and horses that suffer from metabolic syndrome.

  • Blue-green algae, also called cyanobacteria, are found in fresh and brackish water of ponds and lakes. These microscopic bacteria can also grow in backyard fountains, garden pots, bird baths, and anywhere water is stagnant. Regardless of where they are found, cyanobacteria can be dangerous.

  • Cyclopentolate ophthalmic is an eye drop used in veterinary medicine during eye examinations to dilate the pupil and allow for proper examination of the interior part of the eye. It is used in all species of animals. Cyclopentolate ophthalmic comes in a liquid drop format to be instilled directly to the eye (topically).
